I have anxiety which I can control as long as I research and plan things out. I was recently thinking about trying out Lyft or Uber and after all the research I did I found it to be pretty scary. A website called Who’s Driving You? has a list of all of the reports. There have been 51 deaths and 381 sexual assaults.
I try not to let my anxiety affect me from grocery shopping, taking my kids to the park, school, and other family activities. When it comes to things that always seem to be dangerous and in the news, I just won’t go there. If you have to take Uber/Lyft here is a list of 6 things you can do to make sure that you safe. If god forbid anything does happen to you call a personal injury attorney in Tampa. The Hunter Law Group is experienced in cases like these. Alright here is my top SIX things you can do:
- Serial number and expiration date listed on the canister (make sure you replace if it expires)
- 3-year shelf life
- Features flip-top safety cap to prevent accidental discharge
- Ideal for indoor use and minimizes cross-contamination
- Contains marking UV Dye for assailant identification
“Out on a night jog, having your kids coming home alone from school, or your teenager daughter out at a party, are all situations where safety is a major concern. Facing a life-threatening crisis requires a self-defense device that can both deter the attacker and attract immediate attention. With the Vondior Alarm, a would-be assailant is instantaneously stunned and disoriented. Simultaneously, its blaring alarm catches the attention of passers-by to come to the rescue.”
“Solid and Durable: Double-tipped hammer is made from the perfect hardness material of 45 chromium steel carbon that characteristics of enough sharp to easy break the window glass or barrier.”
You may think I am a little crazy for this one, but if you are being attacked in a car and they lock you in the car this awesome tool may help you escape. This also comes in handy if you see a kid or animal alone in the car. Break the window to help the child/animal and call 911.
#4 Take a self-defense class
If you take a self-defense class you will learn techniques that will help you fight your attackers. I plan on taking one soon and I think it might help with my anxiety a little more because it may help me feel more in control of a situation.
#5 Sit in the backseat. Not the passenger seat.
If you sit next to the driver you may not have a chance to fight your attacker.
#6 Stay off your phone!
If you are staring at your phone and not paying attention to your surroundings things can go bad very fast.
