Christmas is here which means that people are spending more money than they usually do all year. I find that if I use these money saving apps all year that when it comes time to buy presents it is not as overwhelming.
I save about $100 a year using Ibotta and that is by not even trying that hard. Walmart is the only one I am able to use a lot. The other ones we have to travel a bit, but if you live near the stores on the app I could see you saving twice as much as I have.
Savings Catcher is a Walmart app and I absolutely love it. We live extremely close to a Walmart and it comes in handy because a lot of the stores on Ibotta are not near us. Walmart is on there, but Strack Van Til which is out closest store is not on the app. Using Saving Catcher helps us get the deals all over because it matches the prices to Target, etc automatically. The only downfall is if you use grocery pickup you can’t use any apps or coupons. We have not used this service, but just a heads up.
Checkout 51 is kinda a wannabe Ibotta. I have only saved about 18 bucks the entire year. You can’t cash out until you reach $20.00 so hopefully, I will get there soon. I do like it, but they don’t have as much as Ibotta has available when it comes to choices.
Receipt Hog lets you scan any receipt. In exchange for the receipts, they give you tokens or tickets to enter into their drawings. You use the tokens to cash out in exchange for digital gifts cards to amazon, paypal and more. They recently added a feature that lets you trade in your tokens for magazine subscriptions.
When shopping at Target simply scan items as you add them to your cart to see if you can save additional money. If there are items on cartwheel simply add them to your savings and give the Cartwheel Barcode to the cashier to save you more. In addition to Cartwheel I highly recommend getting a Target Debit Card. All it does is hook up to your bank account. It is not a credit card or an additional bank card. You slide your card and save an additional 5%. It comes out of your bank account usually two days later in my experience.
Ebates is an app that lets you save additional money on your purchases. You simply go to ebates and click on the store. Then add the stuff you want to your cart and check out. You then earn a percentage back on the total you purchased. They mail out checks and have certain time frames and it is all laid out on their website.
After you are done downloading all these awesome money savings apps rewards yourself with a fun phone app called Ask Bongo. Bongo is a super intelligent monkey from the shores of Borneo, who lives to dish the dirt 24/7! Get an answer to any questions anytime. Bongo knows EVERYTHING about EVERYONE!
